The gang enjoying cakes at the 19th hole

Just wanted to say a big thanks to everyone who came along to the golf yesterday. It was an excellent day and everyone seemed to have a lot of fun. It was a great excuse to chill out in Hyde Park for about seven hours! We also got free entertainment courtesy of the Wireless Festival sound system and some teenagers experimenting with drugs (its a long story).
I really feel like we’re a proper group these days and its all down to you guys!

See you at the next one,

John

Long range weather forecast for Sunday is looking OK, keep your fingers crossed! Not sure if I mentioned but home-made food is heartily encouraged (but not mandatory), I fancy baking a cake, any requests?

Also, if you’ve just found this site and fancy coming to our golf and cake extravaganza just message me with any questions or what not.

I think its time to spread the news about this group a little further. I think there are a lot of people out there in the London area who would love coming along to our events and who would benefit from making friends with guys and gals who can share similar experiences of living with Type 1.

I’m planning on putting together a little leaflet and new business cards which we can give out to anyone who might be interested as well as health care professionals to pass on.

So if you like what we are doing and think its worth sharing then please send me a message with your specialists nurses contact details so I can let them know about us. In the past I’ve contacted a lot of places in North London but now lets conquer the rest of the capital!

Summer is here so lets dig out our Argyll patterned socks and take in a few holes of putting on the rather pretty Hyde Park mini-golf course.

The plan is to meet outside the Tennis Centre, which near is quite near to The Royal Albert Hall but you can find a map here:
http://www.royalparks.gov.uk/Hyde-Park.aspx?page=main

We’ll meet up at 1pm for a round (prizes will be on offer so you’d better be trying hard!) and afterwards we can have a little picnic in the park to relax, and heal relationships strained by the competition. If the weather looks like its going to be rubbish nearer the time then we can come up with some alternative plans to meet in a pub.

You all know how to get to Hyde Park but the nearest tube stations to the site are South Kensington and Knightsbridge.

I’ll probably send out a message nearer the time with more details but if you have any questions the let me know! I’m sure I’ve forgotten something very important

Anyway, hope to see you soon,

John
