Monday, May 27, 2013 2:00pm at Green Park, London
This event will be fun and relaxed, but also for a good cause! We will enjoy a sort of bake-sale/bidding war to see who can create the most tasty dessert and the most delicious cocktail (winner will receive an exciting prize!).
What you need to bring with you:
- A home-made sweet (cake, cookies, tarts, etc.)
- Ingredients for your favorite cocktail or mixed drink
- Money to buy these scrumptious treats
*All money will go into a pot, which will then be donated to the International Diabetes Federation’s Life for a Child programme. Life for a Child helps support children with Type 1 in developing countries get the medical care and vital supplies they need.
You can read more about Life for a Child here: http://www.idf.org/lifeforachild/the-programme
So save the date and start saving your spare change to put towards this very important and often overlooked cause!
Despite the dodgy weather we’ve had of late I thought it was time to risk a trip to the seaside! I know Brighton doesn’t have sand but it’s a fun place and a lot easier to get to than most.
We’re going to meet on at Ohso Social http://goo.gl/maps/fMdO on the seafront at 13:00 on Sunday 22nd of July and hang out around there for a while. We’ll wander up and down the beach and see the sights so if you feel like turning up later in the day just give me a ring to find out where we’ve got to.
If the weather looks like it’s going to be REALLY bad then I’ll make alternative arrangements in the week before we go but I’ve got a feeling in my bones that it’s going to be a great day!
Brighton is always a laugh and it’s very easy to get to on the train. I’m sure that there will be a crowd of us getting on the same train down there so let me know if you want to team up.
Let me know if you have any questions or if I’ve missed any vital information!
Hope to see you soon.
Summer is here (we can dream) so lets get some fresh air and have some cake!
We’re going to meet in the same place as we did the last time, but for those of you who weren’t there it was a little spot in the south of Green Park. I’ll make a little map and put it up in a bit because its a bit difficult to explain.
If everyone brings some food and drink to share then I’m sure there’ll be more than enough to go around. I’ll bring a Frisbee but if anyone wants to bring some sort of park type fun then please go ahead!
If it looks like its going to be rainy then I’ll organise a back up pub nearer the time.
We’ll be there from about 2ish and hopefully stay out in to the evening so feel free to drop in and out whenever you like.
Let me know if you have any questions!
Its quite soon since our last meeting but I really want to go to a quiz and I think other people do too!
One of our lovely new members has suggested the Exmouth Arms, which is between Angel and Farringdon stations. So we’ll be going along on Monday 16th of April. The quiz starts at 7:30 so we should probably aim to get there for about 7:00ish.
I’ll need to book a table so please try to make a decision soonish so I can sort that out.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Time to don your thinking caps and smarty pants as we go to the second JDRF YPG organised pub quiz.
We had a really good turn out last time and everyone really enjoyed it (especially the winning team!) and I think this one is going to be even better probably more competitive!
Its a fiver to enter with all money going to JDRF. Turn up by 19:30 for a 20:00 start.
Venue details: The Alchemist 133 Houndsditch, Houndsditch, EC3A 7BX
Its that time again, time for a drink! Come and join your bestest diabetes buddies for a little afterwork chill out time.
We’ll be there from 6pm onward so drop in after work, or a bit later if you fancy. The bar is in Soho, very close to Picadilly Circus so you shouldn‘t get lost but let me know if you do!
I think there are a few of you who have wanted to come to a meet up for a while but haven’t quite made it. This is the perfect opportunity to come and say hello because I’m expecting a good turnout and it will definitley be a friendly crowd :D
Let me know if you have any questions please let me know!
Hope to see you soon
I think its about time we learnt something on one of these trips. So we’re going to go to the Royal College of Surgeons Hunterian Museum. It’s an incredibly interesting place and as we’re united by a medical thing it seems fitting that we should go to a medical type museum. (and its free!)
I have to apologise for the fairly last minute organising but I’ve been on my holidays and haven’t got around to it till now. I hope we can still have a good turn out for our first meet up of 2012.
We’re going to meet outside Holborn tube on Kingsway at 3pm and wander down from there. The museum itself is on Lincoln’s Inn Field, a short walk away. There will no doubt be some homebaking provided and we can go to a pub afterwards. We’ll also be conveniently close to Lucian and I’s favourite Polish vodka bar and a rather good Korean restaurant.
Please let me know if I’ve missed anything out or you’ve got any questions!
Hope to see you soon

It’s the festive season and what better way to spend an evening than with your D chums! Its the usual plan, I’ll be there from 6pm untill everyone decides they’ve had enough of me forcing homebaked goods on them.
We’ve had really good turn outs to recent events and its been great fun for everyone so I gaurantee you’ll have a good time :D
We have decided to do a sort of blind secret santa. The limit is £5 and if you bring a present you’ll get something back in return. I’m encouraging wierd gifts by the way!
I’ve chosen a different (slightly less expensive) bar for this one. Hopefuly it wont be too busy or we might move somewhere near by (make sure you get my phone number just in case).
Its pretty easy to find but here is a map: http://g.co/maps/utwfa
